That’s is how my grandma grew up she ate these when her dad would train and fright while her mom 4 brothers and sister traveled the earth and the most they’ve ever stayed in one area was for years I asked her and her favorite ship is Japan!

Kartha/Gloom/Kassie, as a veteran, let me lay some facts down for you about these MREs. As a rule of thumb, with the older variety, 1 MRE was meant to last 3 days. They were packaged at 3,000 calories per satchel. In recent times, they've of course downgraded to the 1,200 calorie version you tried today. That being said, you are NOT meant to eat 3 in a day. Thankfully you didn't eat the entirety of them. During my time in basic, when we were away from the chow hall (cafeteria) and training, we would receive these. At most, we received 2. The way this worked over a long FTX (field training exercise) that consisted of 5 or more days, was we would have "hot A's" for breakfast (low quality cafeteria food that was prepared and brought to us), an MRE for lunch and hot A's again for supper. The next day, we would have an MRE for breakfast, hot A's for lunch and an MRE for supper. To answer your question that I'm not sure you even asked, we didn't have the privilege of getting "breakfast only" MRE's. So more times than not, we'd all have supper for breakfast (similar meals to what you tried, but first thing in the morning). This wasn't enjoyable, but was necessary. You work so hard in the military, and move so much, between physical training in the morning, and walking everywhere the rest of the day, 6 days a week, from sun up to sun down. Because of this, the MRE's do their job at supplying our bodies with the needed calories to complete the day's work. Anyway, hope this informed you a bit as you seemed to have questions but didn't ask them. I hope you have a great day and wonderful weekend! Also, don't you EVER eat the egg omelet MRE!!! It's NASTY!!!!!! There's also a cheat MRE as well...it's a tuna one, that is a straight up snack pack of starkist tuna and comes with all the fixins to make tuna salad with....EVERYONE wanted that one because it was the freshest and was the least processed.
